Your breathwork questions, answered

Q: Who is this for?
This experience is for you if you are ready to let go of what is weighing you down, whether that is stored emotions, old patterns, or unprocessed trauma. It is for anyone seeking more calm, clarity, freedom and emotional ease in daily life. It is also a beautiful space to connect with like-minded souls and be part of a supportive, heart-led community.

Q: Is breathwork safe for everyone?
Breathwork is generally safe, but it is essential to inform me of any medical conditions, such as asthma, cardiovascular issues, or if you’re pregnant. I always adjust sessions to support your individual needs.

Q: What does a typical group session involve?
Each 2 hour session includes a grounding meditation, opening exercise, an explanation of the breath technique, guided breathwork to music and an optional sharing circle to close.

Q: What should I bring?
Bring water as you may be thirsty after your breathe, and feel free to bring a journal and pen. If you like support under your knees whilst lying down please bring a bolster/pillow or cushion.

Q. What should I wear.
You want to be as comfortable and unrestricted as possible so loose clothing is recommended Leggings are fine too. And socks to keep your feet warm!

Q. Will I breathe sitting up or laying down.
You will be lying down for around 45-60 minutes. You can sit up though if you prefer!

Q: Will I cry or feel emotional?
It is possible. And completely normal. Breathwork often releases built-up emotional tension. You are always held in a supportive space, and nothing is forced. You may also laugh and that is wonderful!

Q. What else may I feel during a session?
Because we are doing a continual breath you may experience something called Tetany. This is a clawing sensation in your hands and/or mouth, it is completely normal and if it feels too much I can guide you back to a normal breath. On a spiritual level it is believed to be due to tension or emotional feelings we are holding onto. You may experience a change in body temperature too. There will be energy moving around your body so you may also feel vibrational.

Q: Can I do breathwork if I’m a beginner?
Yes, breathwork is accessible to everyone. I guide you every step of the way and go at your pace.

Q: What are the benefits of breathwork?
Benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, emotional release, improved sleep, increased energy, better focus, enhanced creativity, and deeper self-connection.

Q: Is breathwork safe for trauma healing?
Yes, when guided safely. Breathwork can be a powerful tool for trauma release, but if you are working through significant trauma, please let the facilitator know beforehand.

Q. Are you a trained counsellor?
No I am not, This is not a therapy session. I am here to empower you with finding the answers.

Q: Can I stop anytime during the session?
Absolutely. You are always in control. You can pause, return to natural breathing, or take breaks as needed.

Q: Can pregnant women do breathwork?
Please let me know if you are pregnant and I can offer a more gentle breath, but always consult with your GP first.

Q: Can breathwork replace therapy?Breathwork is complementary to therapy but not a replacement. Many find it enhances therapeutic work. Please note I am not a counsellor or therapist

Q. Is there a class etiquette
Please ensure your phone is set to silent throughout the session. I also ask that during sharing circles each individual is given the space to share with no interruptions.
